Shepherd Field Air National Guard Base is located at the Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport, 4 miles south of Martinsburg, WV. The installation consists of approximately 205 acres and 34 buildings totaling 347,441 square feet. During peak surges, the installation population is approximately military 1500 personnel, consisting of both full-time Air Reserve Technicians (ART) and Active Guard and Reserve (AGR) and part-time Traditional Guardsmen (TG).

Pax service days/hours: Tue-Fri – 0800 to 1600 *Exception: Every other Monday & drill weekends
Martinsburg is a National Guard base with limited facilities and manning. The area does not have the amenities of larger towns. It can be very difficult to rent a car or get a taxi if you arrive very late or on certain weekends. It is recommended passengers coming in schedule car service before they land, which should be done at the last departing station. A local cab normally takes about an hour to arrive.
